FRANK
CHEN
Zhao Feng Chen, or Frank Chen, who is interested in economics, technology and music, is on the lookout for new ways to blend his interests together to create new pathways towards a more sustainable and prosperous future. In the long run, he sees himself integrating the fields of business, economics and finance, whether in global trade, economic research, or even launching his own enterprise.
My Story
When Frank moved to a new country as a kid, he had to adapt quickly to everything—new language, new culture, and new people. At first, he did not handle it well. He felt out of place and avoided anything unfamiliar. But over time, he realized that change isn’t always bad; it’s just different. He started trying new things, making friends, especially at his first elementary school in Chantrell Creek where he met friends he still talks to today. This taught him that being adaptable is one of the most important skills in life. It’s meaningful because it showed me how much he could grow when he stepped out of his comfort zone.
Frank recognizes the importance of pursuing a dynamic and interdisciplinary approach to both education and experience-based learning, and as such he is currently focused on several academic and extracurricular activities. Academically, he is diving into AP Economics (both Micro and Macro), along with CSA Physics and Chemistry to deepen his understanding of the sciences. Outside the classroom, he is active in Air Cadets, which has helped him develop leadership, discipline, and teamwork skills. Additionally, he is involved in several extracurricular activities like piano and guitar.
Looking ahead, attending a world-class university in the US aligns with his objectives and will give me the knowledge and experience needed to go into business. He is drawn to schools like NYU Stern and UPenn Wharton as they are internationally recognized and can give him exposure to real world finance.
Beyond academics, he sees universities as a chance to gain practical experience by joining financial clubs and internships. These will afford him the chance to apply what I’ve learned into the fast paced environment of finance. A strong foundation from a top university will give me the experience needed to keep up with growth and development of business.
